Robert Jones was born in Los Angeles in 1926. Jones began drawing animation for Disney Studios while still in high school. After serving in the military, he returned to Los Angeles and studied at University of Southern California and Art Center. His wildlife genre was often seen in Saturday Evening Post and other national magazines. During the 1970s he contributed to Mad magazine.
