Robert Spray

Robert Spray was active/lived in Arizona, California.  Robert Spray is known for portrait painting, graphics, sculpture.

Biography   Robert Spray

Born in Spokane, WA on May 28, 1910. Spray moved with his family to Oakland, CA in 1923. He began painting portraits as a student at McClymonds High School which led to a scholarship at the CCAC. During the 1930s he worked on the Federal Art Project. Following service in the Army during WWII, he settled in Tucson, AZ where he established a silk screen shop. Spray died there on March 2, 2000. Exh: Oakland Art Gallery, 1932-37; Tucson FA Ass'n, 1951 (1st prize).
