Born in Santa Cruz, CA on Dec. 14, 1907. Cain studied at the CCAC and the Rudolph Schaeffer School of Design. He was a resident of Oakland in the 1930s and later moved across the bay to Mill Valley where he remained until his demise on Aug. 4, 1978.
