Biography Roberta McClean
Roberta Fisk McClean (1882-1975) was a native of Russellville in Logan County, Kentucky, and a graduate of the Logan Female College. Miss Robbie, as she was known, studied at the Art Students League in New York and the New York School of Art with William Merritt Chase. Upon graduation, she returned to Kentucky, settling in Louisville, where she had a studio at Fourth and Jefferson Streets and taught at the Kentucky Home School. She returned to Russellville in 1930.
She exhibited in Illinois, North Carolina and Tennessee, and in 1934 she showed in the Salon of Independent Artists in New York. A reviewer spoke of her "remarkable genius."
Her works are exhibited in the 1817 Saddle Factory Museum in Russellville.
