Born in San Francisco, CA on Oct. 12, 1882. Rose Caesar grew up in San Rafael. As a young woman, she rode horseback around the countryside and painted landscapes of the Marin County hills. A long-time pupil of Wm Keith, the influence of Keith is seen in her works. After her marriage in 1908 to Charles Cutter, she settled into a large home at 1214 29th Avenue in San Francisco and did not paint after this time. Primarily a landscapist, she also painted a few marines and signed her works RMC. Caesar was also a fine singer and often performed at weddings, church and social events. She died in San Francisco on May 3, 1941.
