Biography Rosmond DeKalb
Rosmond DeKalb was born in Boston, MA. He studied at the Boston Museum school under Philip Hale and William James. He was also involved in the Provincetown (Massachusetts) Art Colony working with Charles Hawthorne. He resided in Nashua, NH for 37 years and was one of the founders of the New Hampshire Art Association serving as President, Vice President & Exhibition Chairman.
He was considered the patriarch of the New Hampshire art scene for 20 years until his death in 1962. He worked primarily in watercolor and oil. A retrospective of his work was held at the Currier Gallery of Art in Manchester, NH in 1963 (one year after his death). The Currier Gallery has a vast collection of his works.
