The following biography was prepared by the artist:
Rudolf Stumpf was born into the home of a German village blacksmith and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1956. He attended divinity school for several years and served his adopted country in Vietnam. Subsequently, he received a degree in fine arts from Mercer County (New Jersey) College where he studied with artists Vincent Ceglia and Mel Liepzig. An early appreciation for nature in sketching and drawing evolved in sculpture, wood carving and oil painting.
