Salvador Sanchez-Barbudo (1857-1917) was amongst the leading painters of the colony of
Spanish painters who had settled in Rome. He was born in Andalusia and
moved to Rome in 1882, where he often visited the studio of José
Villegas, who was also from Andalusia and who worked in the circles
