Scott Kelley was born in Binghamton, New York in 1963. Scott Kelley studied at The Cooper Union School of Art, and the Slade School of Art, London.
His first solo exhibition was held at The American Realist Gallery in New York at the age of eighteen. Kelley has been the subject of over fifteen solo exhibitions since.
Kelley received a fellowship to the Edward Albee Foundation in 1993, and has been a fellow at The Glassel School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
The artist currently lives and works on Peaks Island, Maine.
