Ebert, Selma Ruth

Nebraska-born and a life-long resident, Selma Ebert was a painter and art teacher who lived primarily with family members in Sutton, a Burlington and Missouri River railroad town near Hastings. She had German-born parents, Charles and Wilhemina Ebert, who had moved to Sutton from Chicago, and they had five children with Selma being the youngest of four girls, and William, the only boy. The family home was at 226 Maltby Avenue, and as adults the parents and three youngest daughters, Anna, Martha, and Selma had lived together. By 1930, the parents had died, and the three sisters lived on together. Anna died in 1951, and Martha and Selma died the same year, 1968.
