Serge Hollerbach was born in Pushkin, Russia in 1923. He was placed in a refugee camp after the war and emigrated to the United States in 1949 where he studied at the Art Students League.
Mr. Hollerbach has gained an international reputation as a teacher and artist. For many years he taught at the National Academy of Design in New York and continues to give workshops around the country. Mr. Hollerbach has had more than thirty one man exhibitions in New York, the Philadelphia's Main Line, Denver, France and Russia. He is the winner of more than twenty national honors including the National Academy of Design Ogden Pleissner Prize, the Gold Medal of Honor from the American Watercolor Society and the Knickerboc
