Biography Sharon Blankner
Living in Espanola, New Mexico, Sharon Blankner is a landscape and skyscape painter in an abstract-expressionist style that emphasizes the textures of the earth and motion of the skies. For inspiration, she paints to music, often the dramatic compositions of Maurice Ravel or the softer strains of Claude Debussy.
She studied at Towson State University in Towson, Maryland and the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore. She moved to New Mexico in 1983 and has had exhibitions in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and in Arizona at the Art Center in Nogales and the Center of the Arts in Tubac.
Blankner is the daughter of a Methodist minister and is originally from Maryland.
