Biography Sherman Raveson
During his long career in the arts, Sherman Raveson was a painter, stage designer for Broadway productions, author, art editor and art director for many leading publications including Vanity Fair and Life.
He attended Cumberland University in Tennessee and the Art Student's League in New York. After a career in New York City, he lived in Delray Beach, Florida near Palm Beach.
Raveson's paintings were exhibited at National Advertising Awards, Chicago Galleries Association, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, National Academy of Design, American Watercolor Society and the 1939 New York World's Fair.
He died November 28, 1974 and is buried in St. John's Cartoogechaye Episcopal Church Cemetery in Macon Co
