Biography Stanford Stevens
Born in St. Albans, Vermont, Stanford Stevens studied art in Paris under Jean Paul Laurens at the Academie Julian and later in New York under George Pierce Ennis and Guy Pene DuBois.
He received a B.A. degree from Harvard University. He was a member of the American Watercolor Society and participated in watercolor exhibitions throughout the country including New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Carmel.
In 1940, he was a resident of Carmel, California, and in 1962, moved to Mexico. For many years he had a winter home in Sasabe, Arizona and Guanajuato, Mexico in the summer.
