Biography   Stanislaus Gorski

Stanislaus Gorski was an American artist who worked in a neo-classical style.  His surviving works are almost always found to be small pen and ink works with white highlights, seldom in any other medium.  His works are highly detailed renderings of somewhat erotic presentation, a theme quite popular with his stodgy Victorian Era audience.

The Victorians, despite outward appearances, were big supporters of erotica, providing of course that the events of the work in question were depicted as the follies of the ancients or the exotics and not those of upright and morally just westerners.
