Steven O'Donnell Scott was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1938. He is known for his finely detailed watercolor paintings depicting the landscapes of California and the Southwest.
At a young age his family took him to California where they lived and traveled the length of the Golden State. They eventually settled in Dallas, Texas.
After school Scott enlisted in the Marine Corps. That brought him to San Diego, California. After his service he spent time attending Santa Monica Community College in California. During that time he became influenced and inspired by the artworks of Frank Hamilton and Rex Brandt. He eventually settled in Escondido, California.
