Painted 3 Mountie subjects between 1935-1944.

Studley Burroughs' uncle was Edgar Rice Burroughs, the famous author of the Tarzan series of books. Around 1920, Studley designed an "ex libris" bookplate for his uncle's personal library, and between 1931 and 1933 he illustrated four Tarzan novels -- Tarzan the Invincible, Jungle Girl, Tarzan Triumphant and Apache Devil.

During that period he also produced illustrations for General Motors and for Sunkist Oranges (1932). The high profile of his work on his famous uncles's Tarzan books, and his location in Chicago, would have brought his work to the attention of Frank Cash, whose advertising and public relations company produced the Mountie advertising campaign fo   ...  Displaying 750 of 779 characters.
