Biography Suzanne Harris
Known throughout the 1970s for her sculpture and landscape work as well as for her involvement with dance and performance, she broke away from the dominant Minimalism. In New York City in 1971, she and sculptor Jene Highstein and Gordon Matta-Clark started the renowned 112 Green Street Gallery in which she displayed her work of glass cubes, floating spheres and light experimentation. Her art was influenced by mysticism and spirituality from her studies of the Kabbalah, alchemy, cosmology and the Egyptian pyramids. Most of her work exists only in documented form, and she died prematurely.
