Born in San Francisco, CA on Sept. 14, 1864. Sylvia was the daughter of artist Jacques J. Rey. During the 1890s she was active in the San Francisco art scene and a member of the local Sketch Club. After the disaster of 1906, she moved across the bay to Berkeley where she remained until her death on Sept. 2, 1941.
