Tachihara Kyosho(1786-1840):Mito samurai (palace guards in Japanese Domain of the Edo period) and also served in three generations, Tokugawa Harutoshi - the 7th Lord of the Domain, Narinobu - the 8th Lord of the Domain, and Nariaki - the 9th Lord of the Domain. Besides, he was a painter of Nanaga (Japanese painting). He studied the Yuan and Ming painting of China, built friendship with Watanabe Kaseki and Tsubaki Chinzan, then studied under Tani Buncho.Tokugawa Nariaki(1800-1860):The 9th lord of the Hitachino Mito domain, also father of Tokugawa Yoshinobu - Edo Bakufu XV Shogun.
