Ted Charveze

Ted Charveze was active/lived in Kansas, Arizona.  Ted Charveze is known for Silversmith; Jeweler.

Biography   Ted Charveze

Native American of the Isleta tribe. Attended Washburn Univ. and Kansas State College in Pittsburg.  Lived in Topeka in the 1960s selling foreign cars when he decided to change the direction of his life.  He returned to the Isleta Pueblo near Albuquerque, NM and focused on his artwork.  He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1970 and studied with the designer Pierre Tourraine learning European techniques in gold, diamonds and gemstones.  He joined with other leaders in the new Indian Art movement and through the 1980s his work matured and attracted a wide following.

Exhibitions: Indian Market, Santa Fe, 1977-90; Museum of Indian Art & Culture, 2002.

Awards: Distinguished Kansas award for the Arts in 1974.
