Ted Coconis was awarded a scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago during his grade school years, but instead of working toward academic success, he abandoned his formal education and headed off to experience grand adventures: first as a pilot in the Air Force and then as a seaman in the Merchant Marines.  By the age of 20, he committed himself to his true calling and began work as an artist—starting in Chicago and ending up in San Francisco, where he landed his first free-lance commission.  It wasn't long before a major art studio in New York recognized his talent.  He heeded the call, moved east and quickly established himself as one of this country's pre   ...  Displaying 750 of 2298 characters.
