Born in Chicago IL in 1887. Lords was a self-taught, amateur painter who often painted from magazine photos or his imagination. In the 1930s he settled in San Diego County, CA where he established a building contractor's firm. In his leisure he painted and made his own hand-crafted frames. His work would be classified as naive folk art. Lords died in La Mesa, CA on Sept. 2, 1983.
