Theodore Chauncey Boyd was born in New York in 1830. Boyd was a resident of NYC in 1850-52. Arriving in San Francisco in 1854, he established a studio at Clay and Montgomery streets where he was a designer (Mechanics' Institute seal), engraver on wood, and stockbroker.
