Thomas Cantwell Healy (1820-1889)
Thomas Cantwell Healy was born in 1820 in Boston to Capt. William Healy and Mary Hicks. He was their fourth child, and was to become the second child to make a successful career for himself as a painter of portraits. His older brother was George Peter Alexander Healy who became internationally sought after and was commissioned to paint portraits of Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Gen. Sherman, Robert E. Lee, 9 other U.S. Presidents, and numerous other persons of political, social, and royal import. Both Healy brothers painted portraits of Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard. Thoma
