Biography Urbici Soler y Manonelles
Born in Farran, Lerida, Spain, sculptor Urbici Soler was raised in Barcelona and studied there with Pedro Carbonel. He also studied in Budapest and Vienna and then earned a Master's Degree at the Munich Academy, where one of his teachers was Adolphe von Hildebrand. He ran his own art academy in Munich for eight years, and then in 1920 went to Paris to study with Emile Antoine Bourdelle. That same year he returned to Spain where he remained until 1925, when he accepted an invitation to Buenos Aires to do private commissions and public building decorative art. He also did portrait busts of numerous South Americans.
