Born before World War I in Hamburg, Germany, she came to the U.S. in 1923 and the family settled in Chicago, Illinois. She continued her art studies at the Chicago and American Academies of Art and began a career in fashion design and decorative arts. She met and married painter Charles Reinike and the couple moved to his home town of New Orleans, where she taught at the Reinike Academy of Arts. A mural, portrait, landscape and still life painter, she drew much inspiration from the world around her and painted murals for many fine homes in the area. In addition to her own work, she supported her husband in his, and raised a family. Mrs. Reinike died in April of 1969.
