Vic Guhrs is widely regarded as one of Africa's leading wildlife artists. Guhrs was born in Germany and at twenty-two he traveled to Africa to experience life in wild places. He then studied art in Johannesburg and soon began traveling to the remote wilderness areas of Southern Africa, observing and learning the ways of the wild and gathering ideas for his paintings.
After the success of his first exhibition he moved to Zambia with his family to live in an isolated bush camp in the Luangwa Valley, one of the richest game areas in Africa.
