Biography Victor Seifert
Victor Heinrich Seifert was born in Döbling (Austria) in 1870. He received his artistic training at the 'Kunstgewerbemuseum' in Munich as well as at the Academy of Arts in Berlin, where he attended the classes of Ernst Herter, Ludwig Manzel and Peter Breuer.
A number of study trips took him to Paris in 1903, to Italy in 1905 and to Brussels and London in 1910, before he became a professor in Berlin. He is well-known for his fountain figures and war memorial, which he usually preferred to cast in bronze. (cbo)
