A sculptor of numerous portrait heads, Virginia Claflin Pratt was head of the art department at the Helen Bush School in Seattle, Washington, from 1926 to 1938. She studied with C. Grafly, E. A. Bourdelle, at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and the Grande Chaumiere in Paris, France.
She was a member of the Pacific Northwest Academy of Art and married to sculptor and educator Dudley Pratt.
