Biography Walt Scott
A cartoonist noted for whimsy and fantasy and a style with unusual
angles and bold ink, Walt Scott had a near 30-year career from 1951
until his death in 1970 creating The Little People, which was a
syndicated Sunday newspaper humor page. The series focused on
small, "elfin people who lived in a magical woodland". In the
1940s, he did the Captain Easy Sunday page and was the ghost cartoonist for Biff Baker.
Scott was born in Sandusky, Ohio and after graduating from high
school, worked as a printer's devil and in his spare time, studied
art. In 1916, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, searching for work and
took newspaper jobs, first in the art department of the Cleveland PressDisplaying 750 of 1821 characters.
