Walter Franklin Buehr was born in Chicago, IL on May 14, 1897. Buehr had established a studio in NYC by 1925. While there, he was in demand as an illustrator of children's books. He painted in California after 1919 and produced a number of seascapes and coastal scenes. He died in Carmel, CA on Jan. 2, 1971.
