Biography Walter H. Kiser
Walter H. Kiser was born in New Albany, Indiana. After graduating from New Albany High School, he was awarded a Scholarship at the John Herron Art Institute*, Indianapolis, Indiana. Later he studied under Paul Plaschke at the Louisville Art Academy, Louisville, Kentucky.
In 1935 Mr.Kiser won a part-time Fine Arts Scholarship at Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y., and in 1936 won a full-time Fine Arts Scholarship with the same university. From time to time he has won other awards and prizes.
In 1939, he was Member and Secretary-Treasurer of the Wonderland Way Art Club*.
From 1934 to 1942 Mr. Kiser ran a weekly, The Neighborhood Sketches, which appeared in the Tuesday issue of The Louisville
