“A successful artist who painted portraits, landscapes, and nudes, signing his paintings as ‘Walton C. Titus.’ He was living in Colorado Springs, Colorado when at 18 he won a scholarship from the New York Art Students League. He attended the National Academy of Design in New York and the Chouinard Art School in California. As a portrait artist he served New York society for years, and was a member of the Board of Governors of the National Arts Club of New York.
