Wilfred John Addison, a painter, illustrator and print maker, lived in Syracuse, New York where he had a studio and also was Director of the Syracuse Sketch Club from 1933 to 1958. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Onandaga Historical Association.
He is credited as being the inventor of the Aquachrome, bluish tint printing method.
Addison was a graduate of Syracuse University and studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy of Design in New York City and the Mechanics Institute in Rochester.
Among his teachers were George Bridgman, Frank DuMond and Thomas Fogarty.
