Biography William Hofstetter
Born in Philadelphia, William Alfred Hofstetter studied at Drexel Institute with Howard Pyle (1899-1902) and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1902-05).
He was a member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Club, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Germantown Art League, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Woodmere Art Gallery and a fellow of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
He exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1912), the Art Institute of Chicago (1916), the Art Club of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Art Alliance, and the Art Association of Newport, Rhode Island.
