Biography William Bright Morris
William Bright Morris (landscape and subject painter), a member of the Institute of Painters in Oil Colours, and member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, was born at Salford in 1844. He received his early training at the Manchester School of Art under Mr. Muckley, and afterwards finished his studies at the South Kensington and Royal Academy Schools.
He exhibited for the first time at the Royal Academy in 1869,"Chatterton." In 1879, the
Council of the Royal Manchester Institution awarded to Mr. Morris the Watts Prize of twenty five guineas for his picture Spanish Interior.
