William Gillam

William Charles Frederick Gillam was active/lived in California.  William Gillam is known for Painter, etcher, designer, architect.

Biography   William Gillam


Born on Oct. 14, 1867 in Brighton, England.  Gillam worked in England and Vancouver, BC before arriving in northern California in 1921.  After settling in Burlingame, he was active in the San Francisco Bay area until the early 1940s.  Gillam died in Sonoma County, CA on Feb. 10, 1962. 

Member:  Calif. Society of Etchers; Palo Alto Art Club; Berkeley League of FA.

Exh: Oakland Art Gallery, 1928;  Calif. State Fair, 1930 (prize); Covent Gallery (LA), 1934; CSL, 1951.  In:  St Paul's Episcopal Church (Burlingame); CSL; De Young Museum; Provincial Normal School (Victoria, BC); Church of LDS (Oakland); David's Episcopal Church (Pittsburgh, CA).
