Biography William Hitchcock
A lithography and drawing artist, he was born circa 1823 and worked in Philadelphia from 1850 into the 1860s and is said to have committed suicide, circa 1880. He executed drawings of birds for the great naturalist Agassiz, and was for some time employed by Thomas Sinclair, whose son married Hitchcock's daughter.
