William George Richardson Hind

William George Richardson Hind was active/lived in California, New Brunswick / Canada.  William Hind is known for landscape, naive frontier sketches.

Biography   William George Richardson Hind

Born in Nottingham, England in 1833. Hind studied painting in London before immigrating to Toronto in 1852. While in California in 1862-63, he painted California Gold Miners in a Saloon. This was on the cover of American West magazine in May 1971 and is now in the Oakland Museum. Hind died in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada in 1888.
