William H C Sheppard

William H. C. Sheppard was active/lived in Pennsylvania.  William Sheppard is known for painting, illustration, lithography.

Biography   William H. C. Sheppard

As an illustrator, William Sheppard did the Rambler Club Series of 15 books, and he was author of a four-book series, Don Hale. He was also a fine-art painter, and writer and was a member of the American Artists Professional League*.   He lived primarily in Philadelphia where he was a student of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts*, but also studied  in Paris as a student at the Academie Julian* with Gustave Bouguereau and the Ecole Des Beaux Arts* with Jean-Leon Gerome.

Exhibition venues included the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts annual, 1890-92, 1896-1902, 1930-34; Paris Salon, 1899; Salons of America, 1934; American Artists Professional League, 1939-40; Currier Gallery Art; Cape May, New Jersey, 1   ...  Displaying 750 of 4579 characters.
