"My wife and I live in NW Indiana and have become somewhat familiar with the artists who were active in this area over the last 100 years. We live about ten miles from the Indiana Dunes National Park, which has been an inspiration to many Indiana and Chicago based artists over the years."
William Nelson was an artist active in this area from the 1920's to the late 60's early 70's, and whose subject matter focused on the lake shore, harbors, and forests of Northwest Indiana. He painted with simplified, pure lines and impressionistic technique and is avidly collected in this area of the country when his works come up on the secondary market.
