Biography Winifred Kendall
Winifred Mulkey Kendall was born in England and came to America where she met John B. Kendall of Holland in Oregon. They were married in 1898 and lived most of their lives on a farm in Albany, Oregon.
Mrs. Kendall was painting before her marriage and was essentially self-taught. Most of her paintings were landscapes of Oregon with many of them of well known tourist attractions such as Mt. Hood and Crater Lake. She also painted still life florals as well as copies of Old Master paintings.
Mrs. Kendall did some teaching, especially to Native Americans.
Her style was mostly realistic, typical of the late 19th century landscape manner.
