Winifred OWENS (1909-1999)
A native to Colorado Springs, Colorado, Winifred Owens began painting at a young age. Soon thereafter, she entered the Colorado College for Fine Art and took classes and studied for five years. During this period, she studied with such famous professors and fine art instructors as Kunioshi, Mangravite, and Jean Charlot. Following this experience she did a summer's work at the Art Colony in Taos, new Mexico with Edmund Kinzinger of Munich. Her portrait work was accomplished under the direction of Madame Alma Hausmann from Vienna, Austria in Denver Colorado.
