Zoe Carnes was born in Benton Co. TN August 28, 1872. She died in New York City November 7, 1967. She studied art in St. Louis and New York. She painted in New York, China, and Mexico. On Jan. 3, 1894 she married Max Whittman in TN. They were later divorced. She married J. F. Coman February 24, 1908 in New York.
She painted in oil, water color, and pastel. She was a sculptor, and block print maker and was a commercial artist who specialized in illustrations for magazines.
Her last name has mistakenly been spelled Corman.
