Biography Franck Haviland
The Franco-American artist, Franck Burty Haviland played a major part in the cubist pictorial advent and was indeed present in the extraordinary adventure experienced in Céret throughout the 20th Century. He instigated the coming of Picasso and Braque to Céret. He pursued his action through contact with the artists that he encountered - Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Loutreuil, Juan Gris - up until creation of the Céret Museum of Modern Art in 1950, where were displayed their works, donated to the Ceret Museum through his efforts.
