Sidney D. Crosier (1857-1930)
Crosier was a Laconia, Indiana native, who specialized in painting the forests and streams of Harrison County, Indiana. "Sid" Crosier studied art in New York state and at the Cincinnati Art Academy*.
He exhibited in Cincinnati and with the Western Art Association*. His paintings were shown along with those by such fellow Hoosier artists as T.C. Steele, J.E. Bundy and Wayman Adams.
A major catalogued retrospective of Crosier's career, "Remembering Sid Crosier," was held July 25, 2008 at the Carnegie Center for Arts and History in New Albany, Indiana, and ran through September 13, 2008.
