Creating paintings indicating travel and perhaps residencies in France England, Belgium and the United States, Paul Lacroix did miniature watercolor views of cities including London. In 1832, he was living in Cincinnati, Ohio, and by 1835 was in New Orleans, where he was married to a native woman and is documented as living to about 1847.
He was educated in France, where he did "some of his finest work" and also became trained as an architect.
