Frederick James Malley was born in Massachusetts on Jan. 28, 1875. Malley moved to San Francisco with his family in 1889. Following the earthquake of 1906, he moved across the bay to Alameda. During the 1920s and 1930s he ferried to San Francisco where he was an art restorer at Gump's. In his leisure he painted landscapes of northern California. Malley died in Alameda, CA on Sept. 10, 1964.
