Born in Wisconsin in 1864. Off spent her childhood in Springfield, IA. By 1882 she had settled in Los Angeles where she taught painting to small groups. Her articles on philosophy and theosophy often appeared in the Times. A spinster, she was active with women's clubs and the social scene until her death there in 1895. Her works are rare due to her short life span.
